Hi guys,

I'm currently a freshman in my second term at Lawrence University. Lawrence uses the trimester system, meaning 3 terms a year, 10 weeks every term. I'm thinking about transferring to U Miami.

Since I've only completed one term of freshman year so far, I have less than 30 credits meaning my high school transcript will be looked at. In high school (Singapore American School), I had a GPA of 3.83 and an SAT score of 1900. I took AP Bio, AP Psych, AP Physics B and a couple honors courses. I would say I was usually in the top 10% of my classes. I played football for 3 years, played in the school's top orchestra for 4 years and was in a few community service clubs. I only had one job in high school the summer before junior year which lasted only a few weeks. I had 2 good recs from teachers which would be good to use as additional recs for applying to U Miami. I was told that just with this I would have a pretty good shot at getting in if I was still a senior in high school applying for college.

The bad thing is that my first term of college will still be looked at which was terrible. I had a GPA of 2.5 because of bad exam scores. Does your GPA in high school and GPA in college average out for transfer students? Because if it did it would still probably be above the 3.4 average GPA for transfer students that get into Miami. Just looking at my first term college GPA I definitely would have no chance but hopefully my high school records would help out.

Anyway, what would be my chances of getting in? Thanks
