Transferring within

I was accepted into Harpur for fall 2009. Is it possible to transfer into Watson before the semester starts?

I would immediately contact admissions. You can contact them @ admit@binghamton.edu.

I know that when I wanted to switch majors within Watson after being accepted, I had to contact admissions to change it – not a specific department. I’m not positive what they would say to your request, but do it NOW rather than later! I know that a transfer from Harpur to SOM would be extremely competitive, but I’m not sure if the same holds true for a Harpur to Watson transfer.

If you are trying to switch schools you CANNOT switch until after your first semester. Once you have had a semester in Harpur you can apply for a within school transfer and even then it is not guaranteed.

It’s called an IUT (Intra-University transfer). You can find the specific one for Watson here: http://www2.binghamton.edu/admissions/apply/Apply_Watson.pdf.
