<p>Many schools will let you transfer only after you have completed your whole freshman year. You have to check with each individual school to see what their policies are.</p>

<p>This is more of an interesting question than it would be almost any other year, because this is the first year of Elon’s new program to encourage delayed entry. </p>
<p>Elon has just started a program that encourages some (maybe many someday) new students to spend a semester or a year exploring the world, volunteering, or studying in the field before coming to campus and formally attending classes. Some of the students are traveling and volunteering together, and I believe others are exploring on their own and keeping in contact with program coordinators. </p>
<p>It’s all a new approach and still rolling out so calling and speaking directly to an admissions representative might lead to some interesting options. Don’t know if the will have a formal policy yet about students in your situation, but call them and let us know how it goes. Good Luck.</p>
