Transfers: where are you going to live? School-assisted (dorms) or off-campus apt?

gotta live in the dorms at Lehigh which I prefer

I'm probably going to live in the dorms. I live in socal and don't know anyone up north. It would be nice to get to know some people right off the bat if just to figure the city out.

yo matt im from socal too , hit me up on aol/aim/email at mcaj0n@aol.com and lets talk

U of Chicago - Dorms.

I'm going to ECU, and living on campus with a friend. I really want to experience the dorm scene once (I'll be transferring as a junior), and if I hate it, I can always rent an apartment.

bfired2: Im gonna go for the cheapest....what's your major? maybe we can room up...heh better than a complete stranger lol

Citan: Let me see...that's 1 Bed 3 Occ in all units except Westwood Chateau for $5082? Sounds a bit too cramped though, I'm thinking about going crazy and doing 2 Bed 4 Occ in Glenrock/Landfair/Westwood Palm/Glenrock for $5313...Although Margan and Westwood Chateau have pools! Guess it doesn't matter though since you can't pick buildings.. My major's poli sci, yours? Sure, maybe we can meet later and talk it over.

^^ mine is Electrical Engineering...yea we can meet where do you live? PM me...you are a guy right? heh

I heard Westwood Chateau's the best...but I think Glenrock has fitness room, but we don't get to pick buildings anyway. As for room type, I might do either...as long as it's near 5K...Im not gettin financial aid so that's why I have to go for the cheapest. I hope we get it...I don't know if students actually get their first preference all the time. Did you apply for housing already? I just submitted my SIR.

on another matter, check this out:

On the housing page regarding the University Apartments it says:

<a href="http://map.ais.ucla.edu/portal/site/UCLA/menuitem.789d0eb6c76e7ef0d66b02ddf848344a/?vgnextoid=d89503a1c7482010VgnVCM1000008f8443a4RCRD%5B/url%5D">http://map.ais.ucla.edu/portal/site/UCLA/menuitem.789d0eb6c76e7ef0d66b02ddf848344a/?vgnextoid=d89503a1c7482010VgnVCM1000008f8443a4RCRD</a></p>

"Units are furnished with appliances and furniture including an extra long twin bed for each occupant. Utilities (gas, electric, and water), basic cable TV, and high-speed Internet are also included in the housing contract at no extra charge."

but on the Ask a Question page, it says:

<a href="http://uclahousing.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/uclahousing.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=161&p_created=1102635311&p_sid=Ynhwic6i&p_accessibility=0&p_lva=21&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PWRmbHQmcF9ncmlkc29ydD0mcF9yb3dfY250PTIzMyZwX3Byb2RzPSZwX2NhdHM9MCZwX3B2PSZwX2N2PSZwX3NlYXJjaF90eXBlPWFuc3dlcnMuc2VhcmNoX25sJnBfcGFnZT0xJnBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9dW5pdmVyc2l0eSBhcGFydG1lbnQ*&p_li=&p_topview=1%5B/url%5D">http://uclahousing.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/uclahousing.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=161&p_created=1102635311&p_sid=Ynhwic6i&p_accessibility=0&p_lva=21&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PWRmbHQmcF9ncmlkc29ydD0mcF9yb3dfY250PTIzMyZwX3Byb2RzPSZwX2NhdHM9MCZwX3B2PSZwX2N2PSZwX3NlYXJjaF90eXBlPWFuc3dlcnMuc2VhcmNoX25sJnBfcGFnZT0xJnBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9dW5pdmVyc2l0eSBhcGFydG1lbnQ*&p_li=&p_topview=1</a></p>

"The University Apartments does not provide telephone, cable, and internet services as part of their contract. You can contact the local providers after you move in if you wish to obtain these services."

I wonder which one is true...if true the free internet thing is sweet...
