Lots of changes seem to be happening this year at UChicago. Of course, Zimmer has been replaced by Alivisatos this year, but also:
- Andy Ward is the new investment officer
- MaryFrances McCourt has been announced as the new Chief Financial Officer, joining from Penn in April
- John Boyer has announced he’s stepping down, presumably to be replaced by a new Dean of the College from among the current faculty
- David Axelrod has announced he’s stepping down next year, presumably to be replaced by a new Director of the Institute of Politics to be recruited from outside the university
- Kenneth Polonsky is stepping down as Dean of the BSD and Pritzker and Executive Vice President for Biology and Medicine and President of the University of Chicago Health System
… so by next year, we’ll have not only a new president, but also a new investment officer, a new dean of the college, a new head of the IOP, a new head of the medical side of things. It seems like a complete fresh start for the university on so many different levels. Any thoughts on where all this is heading?
