Transportation Engineering

Hello, I am a high school Sophomore interested in the Transportation Engineering Program at UC Berkeley (See: UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design). However, the Georgia Tech Program is interesting to me, too, as well as the MIT program, but I doubt that I will get into there. My question is, does anybody have experience with any of these programs, and do I have a chance to get into any of these programs?
I have a 3.95 GPA, and I am in Calc AB. I am also going to take Physics at Harvard this summer. I am the lead programmer of FTC Team 6568, and I have placed Nationally in Social Studies Academic Games.
On a side note, this is my first post, is the format OK?
Thank you!

I am no expert, but your post looks good. I have learned a lot about transportation engineering, because that is what my son has decided to study. He will be a freshman in the fall. We have done a good bit of research and visiting schools. I will tell you what he learned and what he has decided.

Evidently, there are strong transportation programs at Uva, Va Tech, Ga Tech, and Alabama. We were pleasantly surprised to find that Alabama has a program where the University works with the City. My son met with several people in the Civil Engineering Department and was very impressed with what they have to offer and they really made him feel that he could find interesting research right away. They also made him feel wanted as a member of their academic community. The UVa program was impressive also. The difference was that UVa was $55 thousand out of state and they offered him no merit scholarship opportunities. UA offered him a very generous scholarship as well as a great Honors College opportunity.

My son also aimed high to these highly selective programs, but it might be wise to include a financial safety. You might just fall in love with your financial safety and find great opportunity there.
