<p>I am not a current student (but am an alum). I think that you can get a train from either Grand central or Penn Station right into Scehnectady and that it takes about 3 hours. I used to take the bus or look at the "ride boad" back in the day. Union has a lot of kids from the NY area, so it was always easy to find a ride. You can also fly into Albay County airport, but it is more costly and a bit of a distance from the campus.</p>
