Soo I’m in a bit of a predicament. I knew Barnard required me to schedule an on-campus interview in advance, but I put it off (no excuse, it’s my own fault, I know) and checked just now - however there are no more on-campus interview slots available. I know Barnard considers demonstrated interest / the interview highly (higher than other schools? idk) and some people have said that it’s extremely hard to get in without that component.
In terms of my own applicant profile, I am (or like to think of myself) as a highly motivated student applying to very selective colleges with the most rigorous courseload, very high GPA, and perfect standardized test scores. I think I have pretty good ECs (intense involvement/international performer in a niche world-music tradition, leadership/officer positions in all clubs including the highest leadership position in a state debate conference, internships, etc etc). However, I know Barnard wants to differentiate between just the "good’ applicants and the ones who really want Barnard. Would it still be worth it to apply? Is there any other way I can make up my mistake in Barnard’s eyes / show demonstrated interest? I’m feeling kind of dejected that I missed out on this opportunity just due to my own stupidity.
