Trinity RD 2021

Thanks @mrbaby43 will do that !!!

@mrbaby43 Please do consider it an apology then. And I forgot to mention, Bates didn’t offer my desirable amount of financial aid so I couldn’t go there. I did end up getting into Trinity and other schools, including 4 other Nescac’s. But, I decided that I’ll stay in state and go to UNC Chapel Hill. And in regards to the JFK school of GVT part, I am in no way anticipating that I’ll 100% sure get in, but I hope I do and that is my goal. The nepotism is irrelevant.

@rkzent Really? So Bates does not meet 100% needs as their website purports? Hmm interesting.
Btw, when I studied abroad I befriended a guy from UNC CH and we talked a little bit about our college experiences. Though Trinity and UNC are quite different in terms of culture and such (private vs state, preppy vs not-so-preppy…) academically they are equally challenging. I’m sure you will have a great time there. Have fun.

@mrbaby43 well they didn’t cover the EFC that Fafsa gave me(which was pretty low). Based on the savings my parents have, it’s quite a bit more (savings aren’t reported on the Fafsa but they are on the CSS). Unfortunately, the saved money we have cannot be contributed as much as we would like too due to other financial obligations. I think that we made the mistake of completely trusting the fafsa and applying early decision. I would’ve liked to go there but it was not possible. When it came to RD, I got into most of the schools I applied to. Those include, Trinity, Middlebury, Amherst(didn’t think I’d get in), and Conn. From all of those schools I got pretty much the same offer as Bates, with Bates’ offer being the best by an insignificant amount. So, I don’t think that it’d be fair of me to criticize Bates for it, when they technically did meet my 100% “need”. It was my fault for applying Ed to a private school, and not understanding that the EFC isn’t that important. But, I am satisfied with UNC and I’m excited to go there next fall. Thanks for the wishes, and I hope you do have fun at Grad school (wherever it is you will end up). And again, sorry for insulting you haha
