Trouble deciding college major... please give some advice

I have been searching around a lot trying to find what type of college major is for me but it has been a struggle so far. I am trying to decide between a variety of majors. Here are some possible majors I have selected: Business, Marketing, Advertising, and Economics. I am a senior this year. I have been running my own ebay business for years now, and I find that interesting. I am trying to find a major that will a good earning potential, not control all of my time in college (especially since I will be playing sports), as well as it being interesting to me. I have taken adv. geometry, adv. algebra 2, precalc, and this year I am taking statistics. For the most part I have gotten A's every quarter. My ACT and SAT scores are nothing fantastic but definitely better than average, around 1700 SAT score, with my highest score being in math with a 640. If possible I was also thinking about possibly having a minor in psychology since it really interests me. The reason I am not choosing to major in it is the very limited jobs, and the jobs that are available have very low salaries. I have just recently been looking at economics because of the good salaries as well as it involves my strongest field which is mathematics. The only problem is that I feel I will almost be behind since I am taking statistics this year. How hard is it? How much time do you spend on homework each week? Any advice from anyone on what I should choose or any other suggestions? If you have any questions for me pertaining this I will be glad to answer in hope for some advice.

Since you seem to want to major in a business-related discipline, just choose a school that has a strong undergraduate business program, then choose your major once you’re on campus. Most strong b-schools kind of require you to come in knowing you want to do business in order to graduate in four years, but it probably won’t make a difference what your specific major is for a couple of years.

It depends on what you want your career to be. Economics is way different from marketing.

Also, when you say you’re interested in studying economics, are you saying you want to be an economist, or do you want to apply economics to business?

I probably would be more interested in applying economics to business. I know that marketing and economics are very different but marketing interests me somewhat. One reason that I am including economics is that I would hopefully within a year of graduating from college, get a decent paying job.

The only problem with doing this is that I don’t want to go to a big college. I have been looking at colleges mostly between 2 and 5 thousand people. There aren’t that many small schools with strong business programs. I also want to feel ready and have a plan before I go to college.
