I sent an email to Office of International Education at Carnegie Mellon just now. but I sincerely believe that they are less dependable than I thought, so I'm seeking some help here.

this is the email sent to OIE

Hello
my name is Zeyang Li, an incoming freshman, from China.

I got a little confused by the information offered by various web
pages and hope that you can give me some help.
It seems the move-in date was postponed to August 20 from Aug, 17.

but the registration date is Aug 17 for international student (if I
make it right), so where I'm expected to live in during Aug 17-20, or
is there any misunderstanding?

Another problem is that I bought a ticket that will have me arrived on
Pittsburgh on Aug 15, because I found this on

where something like this is promised:

Housing and Dining Services makes every effort for you to move
directly into your fall housing assignment but as a resident with
early arrival status you may be required to move into a temporary
assignment for a short period of time.

Later I thought I'd better check out if there's indeed any
transitional housing available and if I can really be counted as early
arrival. Not very surprised(for my past a few month's understanding of
Carnegie Mellon), I found that transitional housing will be
off-service after Aug 13. After I called the housing services, they
too responded that nothing they can do or offer.

I'm busy checking the hotels around Carnegie Mellon, but I'd really be
thankful if you can help me find a near-by resident, a professor or a
grateful student who would like to shelter me to the move-in date(Aug
17 or Aug 20) for a price lower than those awkwardly expensive hotels.

Hope you can reply as soon as possible.

Thanks

Plus I'm an SCS freshman.
Please don't delete this post(I didn't expect it, but just in case), it's possibly ad-like, but please, essentially it just a pity freshman trapped in a whirl pool of confusion, looking for help.
Great thanks if anyone can offer any sort of adivce.
