trying to apply ED for GS, but a bit desperate

Does anyone have the feeling that you know you are still not qualified enough for a school, yet it is your dream school, so you want to do ED with it, but it makes you feel desperate.
I am a bit idealistic and cannot stand applying a school that I don't like in ED like the others suggest( get a easier one), and I always picture the professor reading my application with a great morning, so he may give me a chance.

Want to work in New York, Wall Street in the future, apply for economic. Willing to attend business school for graduate school. ( That's why I so what to go to GS-Location and connection with the cool graduate schools in Columbia U)

I just want to know if I can do anything now to let it get a chance more than a miracle.
Is it useful if I improve my SAT score to over 2300 or is it just impossible.
I am going to do it anyway, just I want to know the chance so...so what...

hummm, based on your stats I guess you mean CC, not GS right?

Well, I don’t really know about Columbia, since I made the decision to go to America in a hurry, but do you mean I cannot apply GS? Does it require students to have gap year or something?
I do considered applying CC but they told me that it is the second difficult school to apply in America, so they don’t suggest me to do so, and the course I want only exist in CC and GS, so…

I’ve left some messages for you, check your public message. As for your concern regarding your eligibility to apply, yes as an international you can’t attend part-time so you must have taken a gap year before applying to gs.

GS is designed for non-traditional students, ie those who’ve had a break of over a year. Typically that’s substantially more than a year, with the average age being about 29. However the minimum is a full gap year. CC is the college for traditional students, and yes, it’s very difficult to be accepted to either school. However the courses are the same in both schools.

“That’s why I so what to go to GS-Location and connection with the cool graduate schools in Columbia U”

The admissions department generally considers these to be bad reasons for wanting to attend Columbia. With plenty of good schools in New York, your reasoning doesn’t explain why you’ve chosen Columbia. Also, plenty of universities have good graduate schools. So, again, you haven’t explained why you’d like to attend Columbia.

You need to explain why you want to attend GS specifically. And, honestly, right now it doesn’t sound like you know what you want. So, take your time and think things through.

For GS admissions, the essay is everything. It needs to show them your life’s journey, how awesome you are, how humble you are, how much you learned, and how your world view is now based on your life’s experiences. Being nontraditional is more than just taking a gap year. They want to see diversity, growth, and maturity. Above all else, they want to see the specific reason why you REALLY want to go to Columbia, and expect you to fit all of these aspects into an articulate, well organized essay.
