trying to apply over web RIGHT NOW - HELPPPP

<p>Hi fellow Michigan applicants. My daughter is all set to finish submitting her application tonight (to beat the Nov. 1 deadline crunch) but the link from the main UMich website to the application page appears to be broken! (It appears broken on the Chrome browser. On Explorer, nothing happens at all - a long wait, and then a blank window.)</p>

<p>The link wants to resolve to....<a href="http://apply.embark.com/ugrad/umich%5B/url%5D"&gt;http://apply.embark.com/ugrad/umich&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p>

<p>Is anybody out there having any success reaching this site tonight? </p>

<p>There's a certain amount of anxiety flying around the house on account of this. It would be good to know whether it's just us, or if it's a problem with the UMich website.</p>

<p>I just tried it from Firefox, still no luck. (Firefox can't find the server at apply.embark.com.') </p>

<p>May I ask if it worked for you just recently, or more like awhile ago? 'Cause it used to work for us too, just not tonight.</p>

<p>i just went on it, signed in and checked my app... i submitted it back in august. But still, no issues. Used safari on my mac</p>

<p>We don't have a working Mac in the house. I'll try it from firefox again in a bit, but I'm not too hopeful. I have no idea what's going on. We're not having trouble reaching any other web site; she has reached the embark.com site in the past (she has a user id etc).</p>

<p>It works perfectly for me. My suggestion would be:</p>

<li><p>Use a different computer. A friend's at a library, whatever. Copy paste essays in a flash drive and submit them on a different one.</p></li>
<li><p>If it STILL doesn't work out...(it should), all you can do is call admissions as early as possible (tomorrow), and explain your situation, since it was no fault of yours. I'm sure they would understand.</p></li>

<p>Thanks to everyone. The trouble most likely is Embarq's (that's 'Embarq' my telco, not 'Embark' the application website) DNS Server. We're in the middle of switching to using OpenDNS. In the meanwhile, my daughter completed the application from her school's library on Friday.</p>
