Trying to create a college list

I am just starting to make a college list. My stats are fair. GPA 3.7 and ACT 28. I am in clubs, captain of tennis team, and plan to do a Girl Scout Gold award. I want to major in Animation/Game art. I live in Florida. So far, I have the following schools:
UCF, USF, UT, Miami University, and Kent State University. I just saw ETSU. Any thoughts on that college? I like the size and location of it and they have game design/art. Thanks!

What is your budget? Are you currently a junior?

Which UT?

You have some very good in-state public universities in Florida. We do not know much about them since we live way to the north of you.

The budget is probably about $20,000/year. The problem with the main public universities in Florida is they are hard to get admitted. The GPA requirements are >4.0 or they don’t have animation/game art. I want to go to a traditional college and not an art school. UT is University of Tampa.

For animation, look into University of Utah. I think WPI and Champlain also offer this major.
Run the net price calculator and show the results to your parents: what can they afford without loans (from current income and savings)?
Can you afford Florida universities if the latest proposal passes (huge cuts into Bright Futures, see threads on this website)?

Thank you! We are all sitting down this weekend to discuss options!

U Wis Stout has a bfa in animation art and digital media.

ETSU might be a very good fit. They just re-set their out of state tuition and it is very reasonable, so is housing. We were just there on Saturday for a tour. My son has different interest than you, but our tour guide had a room-mate in animation and digital media and said the faciality is state-of-the-art. The kids are working on some big projects with big companies. The campus is perfect sized for my son; big enough to offer a huge library, exercise facility and student center, and football stadium, but small enough to really be walkable. My son will likely attend next year! (We are OOS) They pull mostly TN kids, but are really trying to expand beyond their borders. It has a positive vibe. Check them out; we were pleasantly surprised.

Thank you so much for the information! My mom and I are going to visit in April. We have a family friend who attended there many years ago and loved it! He is an engineer.

Check out RPI and RIT. Both have great game design/animation programs, both private schools in upstate New York/
