Trying to rank the ucsd colleges is giving me anxiety

Hi, I’m a senior and I’m having a really hard time picking between the UCSD colleges. My first pick is Muir and that’s all I know. I was going to put Revelle as second because I’m definitely going to do something in bio. However, I heard that all the GE’s are really hard so I might put it in third. Which means TM is second. I don’t know how to feel about it. I have a really hard time with history so I feel like DOC will be hard for me but I don’t want to have too many classes like I will in Revelle. Or maybe the classes won’t be too hard in Revelle? I am a stem major after all. I ranked sixth as 4th, earl warren as fifth, and erc as 6th. Help a girl out and tell her your thoughts on my ranking.

Also I don’t really get warren ge requirements, especially the PofCs.

You should first look at the GE requirements for each school and see if you have an IB/AP or CC credits that could fulfill some of the GE’s.

Ranking is really up to each individual student and what they feel are their strengths or interests when it comes to ranking the colleges based on the GE requirements.

Have you tried this link for comparing the colleges: http://provost.ucsd.edu/colleges/compare.html

Friends Daughter, BioMedical Engineering ranked them as follows;

  1. Warren
  2. Muir
  3. Marshall
  4. Revelle
  5. ERC
  6. Sixth

If you really don’t like history, I recommend this: Muir, Sixth, Marshall, Warren, Revelle, ERC. But other factors such as location, other GEs, you being a STEM major, can easily change the order. So realistically, I think Muir, Marshall, Revelle, Sixth/Warren, ERC. The main difficult thing about Revelle is its writing/history courses. But if you end up getting into it, don’t sweat it. There’s so much help available on campus if you look for it, and if you do your research and manage to get a nice prof and TA, then you’re good. Your grade is much more based on who’s teaching and grading you than the actual content itself.

I’m a 2nd year ERC student with a friends in Marshall and Sixth. Their writing/history classes are a joke compared to ERC’s, but I really like my college and actually don’t mind MMW that much aha. I was so scared when I found out I was in ERC, but it’s actually easier than I thought, so I think you’ll feel the same in Revelle. As for Marshall, you’ll be good there too; they have less writing/history (honestly a lot of it is modern day stuff) courses (3 vs Revelle’s 5), and while I was writing a 10 page art history paper for MMW, my Sixth friend was filming a creative video and my Marshall friend was conducting a survey/paper on how to improve UCSD.
