It’s nice to meet everyone
But ahh, I’m getting so nervous that I’m one of the only ones who hasn’t had an interview…
I applied RD to computer science
I also requested an interview and haven’t been contacted yet. I haven’t really been thinking about that so don’t worry people
@lavalamp97 @whats9plus10 Don’t worry ! A couple of people at my school haven’t heard back from Tufts either. I think its because semester just started and with this blizzard it must be a little difficult to schedule so it’ll take its time
Thanks for your reassurance guys! You’re probably right @nbx1497 .
Applied to Tufts regular decision, hoping to major in Engineering Management or International Relations, haven’t really decided. My brother just graduated from Tufts in May of 2014 so if anyone has any questions I’d be happy to answer them as I have come to know the school pretty well in the past four years. Also have a skype interview tomorrow so that’s exciting!
@GSikka Hey I’ve also added Engineering Management as my second interest but I always thought you can only take it only as a minor. Can you major in it ?
No you can’t, I don’t know why it was given as an option for my common application but that’s what I have for my first interest. Either way, Tufts allows you to change your interests pretty easily so I don’t think it should matter either way; they just want an idea of what you are interested in pursuing. I know my brother got his entire pre-med done in his first two years at Tufts and then completely shifted into a pre-law track for his junior and senior year, so they are good with helping students pursue whatever they want.
Very few schools (except if it is a required interview at the school by admissions officers) put much emphasis on the interviews unless an interviewee does something really egregious. I guess that would include holding up the interviewer (as in stick up not being late). The alumnae interviews help keep alum connected to the school. More important, it is good PR. If a school wants you, you are more likely to accept if you had a positive experience with an alum interview.
Applied for English, would’ve done ED (I’m seriously in love with Tufts) if not for finances.
I was just contacted for an alumni interview, and gladly accepted (it’s for this Saturday). Best of luck everyone!
For those of you who have the FAFSA checked off on your status account, when did you file it? I filed mine 2 weeks ago, and it’s still not received…
@lavalamp97 Don’t worry, I did not get an interview from Tufts and I was just accepted this morning through ED! I was really worried about not getting an interview but it will be alright!
The wait is a killer :’(
I agree, I don’t know how I am going to waste the next month and a half or so until I find out…Easily the worst part of applying to colleges is the wait.
@japantoamerica Congratulations on the acceptance! And that is definitely comforting because Tufts contacted me the other day to tell me that I am not going to get an interview. I’m disappointed because I feel that an interview really could’ve helped me, but I’m glad that they told me.
@jamesjunkers They are in the process of updating their fin. aid system. I think it should be updated by the end of February. If you look on the applicant portal and click on the financial aid tab, it will explain it…
I’m applying RD, it’s pretty terrifying. I put IR and Biology as majors, but I’m not entirely sure yet what I want to do. I think that’ll work itself out as I take classes and such. I’m very nervous, and the wait is absolutely god awful, @GSikka that’s very true. Although maybe it’s second to the rejections! I think the wait allows me to get my hopes up over time…it’s torture!
I live in the town Tufts is located in so I’m very surprised that I haven’t been contacted for an interview yet. I’m extremely nervous for my decision, I’ve been dreaming about going to Tufts since I was a little girl. I was hesitant to apply ED because it is so close to home, but if I get in, I think I may end up there. It’s a beautiful school.
For anyone who has visited the campus, want to share your experiences? I haven’t been able to visit yet.
I’m in a very anxious state right now about Tufts. I can’t believe we have to wait more than a month to find out.
@lavalamp97, I visited many campuses and tufts was my favorite. My tour guide was amazing, and I loved every part of it. It’s beautiful. It’s the perfect size. Ugh. You have to visit if you get in
@jamesjunkers That’s awesome to hear. I kind of took that from the virtual tour, but obviously that isn’t nearly enough. I definitely want to visit if I get in. I actually had a visit planned for this past Monday, but the weather made me have to cancel. I was so disappointed.
