On a blog for tufts the woman had said that they were still reviewing applications on March 18th. I think we should know by Friday though, if I had to guess.
No news, but the predicted date, based on past trends, is this Friday

Ok so I know of (from the FB group) two students that were admitted with <2100 SAT scores. Surprising?
And someone with a 30 ACT
^^^ I know that person. They got in because of their surprising extra-curricular talent of elephant herding.
No, really not surprising. I suspect that once you pass the threshold for SAT/ACT scores that they are truly holistic. If you read their blogs, they are looking for a totality of factors. They indicated that, for example, with “36 ACT scores” and a 4.0 you might be 80% there but they’d still be looking to see some evidence of fit. If you’re on the low side for scores, they’d be looking for other evidence of academic fitness such as grades and/or rigor of course work and perhaps good essays and “fit”. At least Tufts tells you where their admissions committee stands which is much more than other universities tell you.
@tigerdad can you send me the link?
Are any of you legit banking on tufts or do you already have good offers?
Tufts was my D’s ED school and she got deferred. She has great offers but would still very much like to go there.
I have a 2140 SAT, with a math score close to their 75th percentile and a CR score close to their 25th percentile. So I really don’t think it’s looking good for me. My supplements were really good though, I think.
I have a 2350 SAT but I’m nervous about my essays. Tufts is one of my top choices. I’m waiting to hear back from most of my colleges which is why this is so nerve racking!
Do you guys know if Tufts value the essay more or the SAT/GPA more? I have a decent SAT and GPA but I think I wrote a really interesting essay. I know it’s a speculation so far, but more information is always better than none.
@waterpolo14, with that SAT you’re getting in. I only have a 2180 so i’m anxious.
@StillWaitingHere I really believe they care about both. There are a lot of amazing applicants to Tufts, so they probably want people with both great academics and great essays.

Here’s the overall blog page and there are many articles written by admissions personnel. I’ll try to find the one I was referencing but there are many articles here and they generally say the same sort of thing… that it’s a holistic process in which no ONE thing clears the hurdle of admission… it’s the totality.
