Tufts EDII 2025

Yes, my son has an interview for later this week. He applied for ED2 back on 11/1/20 and perhaps the timing of his application helped make this happen sooner(?). It does seem somewhat random on who is interviewed.

no ED2 compared to ED2 unless you are deferred to RD

Has anyone gotten an interview yet for ED2? I know the deadline to request was only yesterday for ED2

My daughter applied RD and has an alumni interview scheduled this week.

Just received an email for an interview that will occur in a few days (EDII). The turn-around time is really fast lol.

I just got my interview today (EDII). Its for tm (scary).

Good luck!

The only question that threw my daughter in an interview (not for Tufts) is why she didn’t apply ED. Who knows, an interviewer could ask why ED2 instead of ED1.

they should not be asking that type of question

any news on when theyre releasing decisions?

Last year it was 6 feb i think

Yeah, it’s definitely more like the first week of Feb vs. mid-Feb. There’s lots of news out there on huge number of apps received and how acceptance dates are being pushed back to accommodate reviewing so many. Of course ED2 is a fairly small pool, but any big increase still means more work, so it seems like there is definitely a chance of it slipping a few days.

Does anyone know if 3 virtual events is enough demonstrated interest or should I do more?

Outside of events that have clear email registration, I don’t know how well they tie-out to their public website, Insta, etc… I think choosing ED/ED2 by itself demonstrates a ton of interest since it is binding. That interest can also be demonstrated by not just requesting an interview, but also doing your research and demonstrating that you know what Tufts offers, how it’s a fit, etc… Just by doing those 3 virtual sessions and being ED/ED2 you have demonstrated more interest than many, many applicants

PS checking your applicant portal (but not hourly! lol) would also be easily tracked. If you were to compare which portals my son has/has not checked you could very easily see that he is most interested in Tufts.

Hi! Thanks for your reply! I actually did apply regular decision and had considered switching, but overall stayed regular decision. With that in mind, is 3 virtual events and emails with my admissions counselor still enough?

It sounds like you have done everything you reasonably can at this point. Tufts officially doesn’t seem to want to receive any extra docs they don’t ask for but look around on CC and see what others recommend about a Letter of Continued Interest (LOCI). There may be a way to work that in to having an update/conversation with the admissions officer. That could be a way to confirm your interest, provide any meaningful updates, etc… During times of covid, I do think everyone needs to be cut some slack and not everyone is going to be ED/ED2, but with apps up 37% and Tufts having a good yield on their offers (around 50%) RD is going to be tough for any well-qualified applicant. Fingers crossed for ya!
