I've been accepted to both schools, which is amazing - but I have no idea which one to choose! I want to major in International Relations, but I'm also interested in History and English. I'm an international, so unfortunately I cannot visit either school, although I have already seen Tufts.

Any advice?

Is cost a significant factor?
If so, which is cheaper for you (after aid, if any)?

What attracted you to each of these schools?

Cost isn’t a factor at all, and I didn’t apply for aid. But I was (and am still) really attracted to the people at Tufts, and the atmosphere which is passionate but still easy going at the same time. I also really liked the presence of the Fletcher’s School on campus, and the strength of the IR program.

For Swarthmore, I really liked the fact that classes were so small and the great professor-student interaction. I think the campus is also really pretty, and all said and done - it is one of the top liberal arts colleges in the nation.

oh hey! i got into Swarthmore too! International Relations is REALLY good at both schools, so I don’t think you have to worry about comparing departmental strengths between the two.

But I think the campus atmosphere might be different. I know at Swarthmore, students are very passionate about what they want to do and quirky in their own way. Best of luck!

Flip a coin. If heads - Swarthmore, if tails - Tufts. As the coin falls, you’ll know which side you’re hoping for.
