Hi I'm a Junior in Hig School and am looking at colleges and Tufts keeps coming up but I'm unsure if I can get in. I have weighted 4.3 GPA and unweighted 3.7, and am projected to get a 30 for my ACT, I'm hoping to take it two or three times and get a 31 or 32 hopefully. I do 4-5 AP/Honors every year and get mostly A's, I get one or two B's but they're always in AP classes, never a C. I got a 5 on my WHAP exam and expect at least 4's on my exams this year. I did 2 years of honors advanced foreign language, 2 honors and 3 honors--will this kill my chances? I am on the tennis team, investment club, scholastic bowl team, and started and captain the debate team. I will also be captain of scholastic bowl next year. I am also in NHS which I hope to be VP of next year. I am also get involved in my church--I'm catholic--and am an usher and Eucharist minister as well as a member of the youth group. I am also a peer juror. I have good leadership and led a Kairos retreat. I should have good recs and essays too. So do I have a chance? Tha me for your time, ill chance back if you ask!

I think you have a chance. GPA is good, but try to get a 31 on ACT.

Find a few non-reaches…

I already have a few in mind, Marquette and De Paul mostly are the schools I’m realistically going to go for. If I got into Tufts or another school like that it’d be ideal

Its a low reach. You can apply ED to Tufts which demonstrates commitment (if it becomes your top choice). If possible, you could visit to help you make that decision. Boston is one of the best college towns, so when you go there you could also visit BU, Harvard, Brandeis, Emerson among the many other smaller colleges nearby. Its also easy to take the train into NYC.

If it helps my class rank is 20 out of 600

Tufts: Reach
Georgetown: Reach (since IR is in the cards, I suppose it is another reach worth having)
GWU: Match/High match

Thank you guys very much for the input, I’ll definitely be checking these schools out in the near future!
