I don’t know. I just asked that question . I reached out to Tulane a few days ago regarding that and I was a bit confused. I believe that if you did not apply for need based you do not receive a Gibson Portal as Tulane does not require FAFSA for merit based. But my question is, which portal does the decision drop in?? And would love if my question was confirmed . Don’t quote me on that.
@CaliMck15 I am still signing into the applicant section of Gibson, but next to the home and financial aid tabs there was once an “applicant” tab as well. This tab is now gone and I just see the two tabs that used to be there. I also see the admission decision pending review under the “to do” list in the financial aid tab.
@collegegirl4321 it will be in your green wave portal don’t worry
I was getting the Green Wave Portal and the Gibson Portal confused because you still use the Gibson Portal once you’re admitted–I still have a Gibson Portal now. But I checked the admissions website, and this is what they said https://admission.tulane.edu/apply/status:
So, I guess Gibson Portal is initially for financial aid, and once you get accepted, you keep the Gibson Portal and get a student tab. I hope that makes sense.
when you log into your Green Wave Portal, your Gibson ID should be listed on the right (well, for me at least lol)
It took a few days for our Gibson Portal login to appear but it’s there now and that’s where the details of the merit scholarship were found. The acceptance letter had the merit award included but the Gibson Portal broke it down by semester and requirements. Good luck next week to all the EAs!!
My applicant tab on the Gibson portal disappeared today. Does this mean anything(I applied EA)?
@Rivergirl1313 did you already get accepted to Class of 2023. If yes, did you apply ED or EA?
Tulane posted on facebook EA decisions come out December 20th 3:30PM CST!
I am so anxious for Thursday!!! Ahhh!!!
@Youngstudent18 My daughter was accepted ED - she heard a few weeks ago.
Does anybody know if they will be mailing letters before or after the portal is updated on Thursday?
I am so nervous
Do yall know if tulane will only select a certain number amount of kids from a school? I have decent stats (34 act, 3.944 gpa uw) but there are several kids from my school also applying early action and idk if that will have a negative effect on me?
Does anyone know how they release decisions on the portal? Like do you enter, click view update, then see the decision or is it there once you login?
For ED, the portal was updated at the exact time the admissions team had stated. There was a new big box that said “Congrats” and then a link to a letter (which had little confetti drop when you opened it). The next day, we got a copy of the same letter in a 8x11 envelope in the mail. The merit money and acceptance to honors program were included in the text of the acceptance letter. Good luck and roll wave!
Usually about 35 apply from my school and they take around 16 with 4 attending. however, those 16 range from ED to Reg
is it bad that I checked the box on the common app for the Dean’s Honor Scholarship and Paul Tulane Scholarship but ended up not doing it??
@collegegirl4321 - I think I read somewhere (or maybe it was during the regional info session) they mentioned that only about 45% of people that start the scholarship apps finish them so I would guess it doesn’t affect your application in any way.
ackkkk I’m waiting on the edge of my seat for Thursday. Deferred from both uchicago and georgetown so it would be great to get this… otherwise it’s a long wait until March
