Tulane EA 2025 Decisions

Yes, that is right. Many people did not pay close attention. Full-tuition scholarship is less than “full-ride”. The difference could be same as theEFC of your family.

honestly how important is demonstrated interest?
like high stats, ranked top of class and insane rigor can be out the door if DI was nothing?

Yes, sometimes at Tulane and other schools.

Silly question here, that may have been discussed in thread. Does the decision appear in the portal website or does an email go out? And if in the greenwave portal website, where?

Depends on the school… but definitely at Tulane.

:worried:

Sounds like Tulane needs to do away with ea altogether then. Feel badly for all the students who worked so hard to get their essays and apps in early only to be told most of you won’t be looked at until spring :frowning:
We def won’t be switching from ea to ed2.
Good luck everyone!

If I didn’t do any virtual info sessions or tours, but I did do the optional Why Tulane essay, does that still count as demonstrated interest?

Of course it does! It is impossible to know how much demonstrated interest they want to see. But obviously, if you could write a Why Tulane essay, you did your research. Many people didn’t write it bc it is optional.

I disagree. My daughter is a freshman at Tulane. With a large scholarship. There was no way we could have afforded Tulane without a merit scholarship. She wanted to know her status at Tulane to compare to the small handful of other schools she was considering. And yes money played into that factor for us. KNowing she was accepted to Tulane in December and knowing she had some merit at that time helped us shuffle some other schools around dropping any out of contention. There are MANY people in the same situation. Tulane will keep EA because they get quality students from their EA pool. But they only have so many spots. Yes they calculate that if you are good for Tulane, but not quite ready for EA AND you are willing to pay for Tulane, then ED 2 is a good choice for you and Tulane. YOU get to make choices and Tulane gets to make choices.
But I do agree with you, because of the situation we were in there was no way we would have/could have changed to ED2 , for all the reasons we applied EA.

My daughter had a friend with amazing stats but no demonstrated interest and she thinks thats why she got rejected…

yes. I feel like if you research them at all it is clear how much weight they give to demonstrated interest- so not to do it sends a message.
