Tulane Law: Complete faculty?

I was interested in Tulane Law, even after Katrina. However, recently they laid off a great number of faculty and scaled back several programs. The news reports are basic and the law school's website is going to be biased. Does anyone know how badly the law school has been affected by these layoffs and/or the hurricane?

that is a very good question. i also wonder how the undergrad school will be affected. Tulane has sent undergrads on to Harvard Law in the past.......3 students last year.

That's actually something I was wondering. Now I've actually got another question about Tulane. What type of law do they teach there? Yeah I know it sounds like a stupid question, but I know Louisiana uses a Civil Law system (as opposed to Common Law which the other 49 states use). Do they teach the Civil system or do they teach the common law system? Just curious.

I can't tell you about the present faculty situation, but as a Tulane alum, I can tell you that they have 2 separate tracks to take -- common law or civil law. As a former Maryland resident and a Texas transplant, I took only common law courses.

Thanks, I just actually posted another thread where I asked almost the same question. I wish I had seen your post first. That at least makes sense that they would give you two different tracks to take.
