Tulane University: Chance me

Hi, I am a white female from a very competitive mid-size public high school in nj. Tulane is very popular at my school, there will probably be one or two ED applicants and between 5 and 10 RD or EA applicants. I really love the school and want to apply ED, but my parents are making me ED to another school for monetary reasons(which is a good reason but it’s still hard). These are my stats I will be applying EA (btw i think i have zero shot but let’s see):

GPA: 3.6 UW/5.76 W (7 pt scale)
SAT: 1230 (weak spot for sure)
Very rigorous schedule, I always took honors/AP classes in history and science, as well as honors spanish, business, etc (8 total honors/ap by the end of senior year the rest accelerated classes no regular/standard classes)
EC: 10/10 I have a national honor from the ACLU for my advocacy within my community, on board for local community service organization, varsity ethics team, work 6 days a week, had a marketing internship my junior year, debate team, and participation in theater, 2 honor societies
Common app essay: 8/10 i told the story of my parents divorce from my young self’s perspective it was actually pretty good but everyone writes about their parents divorce so idk how original it is
why tulane essay:10/10 put so much effort into it and i think it’s very creative
other: lower middle class, single mom household, haven’t visited bc of money but i am interviewing on october

I also forgot to say that i’ve been in touch w the admissions counselor and even arranged to come to my school because i asked him too, idk if that has any weight to it but i thought i’d add

Please read the Tulane Admission Blog for tips on filling out your application - tips are useful for any university not just Tulane. One of the tips is - NO Chance me. If you attend one of Mr. Schiffman’s admissions sessions - he speaks about curating a class. He is looking for a variety of students with different skills, experiences, and majors. Good luck to you!

Thank you so much for your input!
