...and now stressing over my choice. A potential double major in English and History/Anthropology. Stupid to be fretting over this now, I know, but someone tell me I made the right choice?

u made the right choice. and u make me feel like i made the right choice ; ]

Remind yourself of why you chose Cal over Duke and (hopefully) you will be reassuring yourself.

I would stay away from Berkeley Anthropology unless you are interested in Social Anthropology or New World archaeology. We have an incredibly biased anthropology department. If you are interested in physical anthropology, major in Integrative Biology instead.

You made the wrong choice.

(both in major and university)

thanks for the advice! I’m leaning toward History regardless.

The college experience is what you make of it. I don’t know enough about you to say whether or not you made the right choice, but Berkeley is a lot cheaper (assuming you’re not OOS I guess), and I think it’s international reputation is greater than Duke’s. Can’t comment on the majors.

But if all you’re looking for is comfort, then, as an incoming Berkeley freshman, you made the right choice :)

I’m OOS and money isn’t a factor, but thanks! I appreciate it.

You made the right choice.

I echo his sentiment. (lol it seems in every analysis or FRQ in AP English i say this)

and also you in Freakin cali. way better than North Carolina and the whole east coast. why do you think so many east coast people come here to go to school?

So many people go here because they admit so many unqualified students (freshmen and transfers), it’s a public school, they receive so many in state applicants…i could go on.

lol @ non-students telling him what kind of choice he/she made. Your opinion is based on a 3 hr long tour, the high of admittance, and the excitement/resentment that you’ll be going here.

please.

student here: right decision for sure, you’re going to love cal

Berkeley has the top ranked English program in the country and is tied for the top History program in the country. Duke is 10th and 14th in those fields, respectively.

I think you made a reasonably good choice.

Duke? Where’s Duke? Never heard of it.

jk. You made the right choice. Besides the regal sounding name, Duke’s got nothing on Berkeley(except maybe Bball).

You will like this place. Don’t come in with the “what if attitude” because everything will look bad. My motto - “Come in with no expectations and they will always be exceeded.”

You made the right choice, because you made a choice. Both are great schools, and if you followed your instinct when you submitted your SIR, you most likely made the right decision.

The main difference between the two campuses is environment. Duke’s more traditional while Cal’s more diverse.

dude when you sent in your SIR you followed your heart aka your subconscious so you obviously think cal is great.

Cal is great. maybe ill see you around
