that’s pretty cool news!

Ive been wondering when ttown would get a ES.

I wonder if the leased restaurant wll be a Ruth’s Chris? They seem to often go together.

Love Ruth’s Chris. Sizzling platter of steak. Can’t beat it.

Ever since Ttown made it legal to sell alcohol on Sundays, I’ve been expecting an Embassy Suites to move in. It makes sense that it’s being built near Downtown.

I wonder if the hotel will have it’s own parking structure for guests and employees?

These are the detailed architectural plans for the hotel. Among other things, you can see how the parking lot will be laid out.

What is the big deal about an Embassy Suites? Is there something special about those? I’m not familiar with them.

LOVE Embassy Suites. The rooms are great as they are a true suite. A living area with a sofa sleeper and table and chairs as well as a desk. Mini bar with a mini fridge, micro and a large mirror above it for getting ready for makeup/hair, etc. A good sized bathroom and seperpate sleeping area. They also have another mirror area to get ready in the bedroom and the extra sink in the mini bar is great when 4 people in one room to brush teeth, etc. Dislike hotels that put no mirrors outside of the bathroom except maybe on the closet by the room door in dimly lit area. Embassy Suites NAILS IT!

They also have a nice cockail hour in their typically very large lobby areas. Free breakfast as well that is nice.

Most Embassy Suites have a large open center area with a balcony that goes around each floor. The ES in Hoover is the only one I’ve been to that did not. However, the room we had was even larger than normal and the bathroom had a door from the living area and bedroom.

So glad to hear that here will be an ES in T-Town. If they stay true to size it wil be the largest hotel in T-Town  There was supposed to be one on the river area in Northport but it got scratched as the developer ran out of time with their ES agreement and negotiations with the city for all of the variances they were needing.

Looking at the plans it appears this one will be similiar to the ES in Hoover. It will not have the open courtyard plan but rather a single hall plan on each floor.

It’s nice also because the ES is the first midrise tower going up in downtown Tuscaloosa since the 1970s.
