Hey

What is the maximum size TV you guys recommend I purchase for the first-year dorms? I have no idea how big the rooms are and I don't want to accidentally get a TV that is too big to fit.

Thanks

I’d say 26 inches would be a safe bet. You might be able to go up to 32 or more depending on how you set up the room.

roommate brought a 37" that worked well

I know it is hopeless to post this (rhymes, too) but how about “no” TV. My sons and their freshmen roommates didn’t have one, didn’t want one and were busy till the wee hours every day. Few of the Duke guys brought them either. Second son was “busy” enough to almost flunk a class first year (ahem.) Hmm. Come to think of it Duke son was “busy” enough to almost flunk a class first year as well. Bad memories fade though.
Seriously, with facebook, computers, skyping, texting, actually socializing in person, parties, sports, parties, events, parties and festivals and a thousand things going on 24 hours a day for free on campus, it is very hard to actually go to sleep anymore at college. There are lounges with large TVs for big games all over the place and plenty of people will have TVs in their rooms here and there

i hope you’re my roomate.

Faline2…I was thinking the same thing…I guess to each his own.

If your TV is too nice you will have lots of visitors.
