The joys of twins. One son likes every school we go to and says "I can see myself here" or "they all seem alike" while the other finds a flaw or two in each and still hopes for the perfect fit and keeps digging for that magic school. The first one could care less about the rankings while the perfect fit son peeks at USNEWS from time to time. They really like the book " The Unofficial Biased Guide to the 331 Most Interesting Colleges". Good Book

One son is nation merit semifinalist while the other missed the cutoff by one point and is commended. It is amazing the difference in mail we see just because of one point on a test. Thank goodness they are not real competitive with each other in this area. The commended twin is barely outscoring his brother on the ACT and SAT though, go figure.

I have tried to have the boys limit their choices to 10 schools. One is pretty good at it and is at 7 schools and the other still has 15 choices. I told him you have to pay the fees for any schools past 10 and now he is working on getting the number down to 10. Amazing the difference I see when it is not on Dad's dime.

At least we got two apps out this weekend to safety schools with good merit opportunities for EA.

Powder River let er Buck (old rodeo saying here in the west) here we go.
