I need some advice.

My goal is to become a veterinarian. I've already picked out the concentration I'll be in to get a B.S. and the vet school requirements. BUT, I really really like the Nutrition concentration. The job opportunities are great if I get a B.S. in it (Dietition, etc). I'm thinking about doing Food Safety (covers vet requirements) and the Nutrition concentration. Would it be too hard or is it a good idea?

Many nutrition programs usually have two tracks: Nutrition Science and Dietetics. The Nutrition Science track is the appropriate one for pre-vet. Dietetics tracks require an internship on dietetics, etc. and some of the coursework is less suited for pre-vet.

Food safety is an appropriate complementary area for Nutrition. You might also think about Microbiology as a minor, though some micro courses probably are included in the Food Safety program.

I’m looking at the university handbook and it only has one nutrition concentration. So the science and dietitics are together.

So, are you saying that taking on Food Safety and Nutrition concentration together isn’t a bad idea?

Food safety is fine, but the nutrition science should be the biggest part of it.
