Two Things... advice?

So I'm going to be a freshman next year.

For like 3/4 of high school I was a TOTAL slacker. I know I'm intelligent... I've always taken honros/ AP classes... but just kind of been the student that coasted through them.... getting mostly C's. All my friends are basically the top 10% of our graduating class this year. I just know I've missed out on a lot of opportunities because of just not really caring about school much.

BUT this past year (senior year) I've really got myself together and become a very good student. I've gotten the best grades of my life in a pretty challenging schedule, and I feel like I finally understand what it means to work hard and dedicate yourself to your school work and its great. I've made some really good habits for myself this year.

I've been looking forward to college since like 7th grade... but now that its come down to it I'm really starting to panic. I'm worrying about what the schoolwork load will be like in college... especially for someone like me who just barely got the hang of it in High school.

I know I'm going to do whatever it takes to get good grades... but I wish I had some idea of what it would be like so I could prepare!

Any suggustions?
I'm enrolling in University Studies at my school which is basically the same thing as Liberal Studies or whatever... just for anyone who doesn't want to declare a major yet/ doesn't know what they want to do.

And I'm nervous about what the classes willl be like and that I will hate them. I can't find anything on teh website about what classes it involves.

Have you checked with some sort of counselor? They can tell you about the courses you are expected to take.

However, the more important thing is the mindset. You should prepare to tackle anything that comes to you. It seems you’re in the right track. Start off your first semester with GE courses and at least 1 major prep/pre-requisite course. You will be going through some transitions, so try a little bit of everything while keeping education a priority. Do at least 12 units, though many may say 15. Neither should be particularly difficult, so it’s up to you.

Learning styles are always different, but the one thing you should take advantage of is your classmates and any available tutoring. Those always help.

Is there anything in particular that you’re afraid of?
