I have a blackbelt!!!! xD (Martial Arts)
Violin - All State (TX ALLSTATE IS HARD!) , 3 years 1 in Texas State Solo & Ensemble, I drive 1 1/2 hrs to take lessons every weekend (my mom is a beast!)
6th in TMSCA sophmore year (I.E 6th in the state for math my sophmore year)
Captain of UIL math team, won a bunch of individual district/regional awards but im most proud of the state one haha
Science Bowl - 7th in the nation sophmore year, this year i was captain but we were 2nd in the reigon =(
Made AIME twice and scored 5's
I dunno if this counts but in 7th and 8th grade i was second in the state Exxon mobile science fair for Texas o.O </p>

<p>Research
Summer to junior year, i built a spectrophotometer with spare parts and presented it at the APS fluids national conference (it actually worked, for $300 hahah!)</p>

<p>currently im doing research with the department head of biomedical engineering @ Texas A&M, and im hoping i can get a siemens project going</p>

<p>Community Service
Twin city missions soup kitchen (haha i know i still need more service)
Lot of hours tutoring at my school
NHS
Interact - haha yeah these 2 are kind of lame i know this xD</p>

<p>Hmmm… I would say a low reach for MIT, which is a decent shot and totally worth applying!</p>

<p>What is your race, because if your not Asian, then MIT is probably a high match or low reach. But if you are Asian, it is a reach. I know this sounds afwul, but thats the way it is. So if you are Asian, like try to make yourself out to be less Asian on your application. Also you should retake the sats and aim for a higher writing if you want, but its not that necessary.
Look at more schools and keep up your GPA is the best advice i can offer. </p>
