U of Miami, NC State or George Mason

I've applied to George Mason University, North Carolina State University and University of Miami.
I've already been accepted to GMU, I'm just waiting for the other two.

I was wondering, what is the best choice out of the 3.
I'm looking for:
Academics, Social scene, Great people, Scenery and shopping!

The rankings are
NC state- 52
GMU-131
U of M-152 (something like that lol)
But with those numbers they are all great schools considering the thousands of them in the U.S.

1)Miami
2)NC St
3)Mason

NcSt is in raleigh which is like a smaller dc w/out the govt. It has the traditional school stuff like football which Mason lacks (mason has weak school spirit b/c no football)

Miami would be your best bet…beaches…south beach…good academics…sports…

imo UM is the best academically, but idk where you got your rankings…

Also, UM won’t be a good fit for everyone. I know it wasn’t for me. I’d recommend trying to visit first.

Miami is the best by far at 44. Followed by a significant drop to NC State which is a pretty mediocre school ranked at 106. At least it is cheap if you are from NC. George Mason follows it up at 139.

Not sure what numbers you were looking at.

I got my rankings from [Top Colleges & Universities in the US | University Rankings by 4icu.org](Top Universities in the United States | 2023 University Ranking [uniRank])
I figured they were off, but yea I think I’m leaning toward Miami I just have to check out the school.

The only rankings that are used consistently by people are the US News rankings. I’ve never even heard of the ones you posted.

Yes, Miami, while very expensive, is significantly better than the other schools you listed. NC State isn’t a bad deal if you can graduate free of debt. I wouldn’t attend George Mason unless I had to (which no one has to do).

Curious as to what you didn’t enjoy w/the social & academic life @ Miami? Its on my transfer app list for fall 2013

Mason’s not bad. It’s #1 for upcoming universities, so they are obviously advancing pretty quickly and they have a beautiful campus also!

imo i would back nc st as the best. they have been constantly rising with their engineering programs. also they are very close to unc and duke which may aid you with more opportunities in some ways.

But miami is a great school and the nightlife their is probably insane haha so either are good choices

IF you don’t mind, can you tell me what ur stats are? I’m applying to George Mason and really nervous!

3.25 weighted gpa
