U of Pittsburgh or PSU for Philosophy/Political Science

I live in Pittsburgh and actually go to school in Oakland (where Pitt is located), so I’ve spent plenty of time on campus and practically live there. Both campuses are extremely appealing to me and I’ve done in-depth tours of both places, so the campus life really isn’t a deciding factor. My eventual goal is to attend law school (hopefully at a better program than these schools offer!), but I was wondering if either would be a better feeder school. My intended major is philosophy, but I plan on doubling in either international relations or political science. If anyone has any testimonials from their times at either school I would greatly appreciate any words of wisdom! Thanks!
(P.S. I plan on attempting to gain admittance to the honors college of either school, and I know both are highly regarded in their own right, so any info that anyone could offer on that would also be greatly appreciated!)

If you get into Schreyer, that would certainly be a bonus. It’s pretty selective and confers benefits like smaller classes, scholarships, quieter housing, and early registration.

Pittsburgh has one of the top ranked Philosophy programs anywhere, and they have an excellent honors college.

For pre-law and philosophy I would pick Pitt

Pitt also has a pre-law guarantee

It probably doesn’t matter much. Both Pitt and PSU are excellent universities and you can go to a great law school from either.
