The wait is killing me! lol This is mines first choice and going in test optional just makes everything so crazy!
Hang in thereâŠjust a day and a half to go!!
Iâm so nervous. I donât think Iâm going to get in. I posted a chance me on the Reddit r/Gamecocks sub. I got told by about 20 people that I was for sure in and not to worry. I ended up deleting the post for âprivacyâ reasons but I wish I would have kept it up so that I could reply to them whether I get in or not.
Can you share your stats here? Maybe it will ease your mind?
I think in the world of COVID no one truly knows who is going to get in and who isnât. They may take more kids this year, more from OOS due to lost money this year, who knows. The school is a reach for my S but hoping thereâs a chance due to current circumstances. Only time will tell. I will say based on their email this past week, there will be a lot of deferred students, solely because they probably havenât had a chance to go through all the applications due to the change in testing policy.
I would not read into email sent last week as itâs the same exact email sent last year so I think itâs the standard process.
Reading last years thread there seemed to be a decent amount of deferrals. I imagine itâll be more this year with all of the TO applicants, as well as an increase in overall applications.
@catmele wow it is? That is reassuring
Super nervous about if Iâm going to get in or not bc I had a rough freshman year.
3.4 GPA I went test optional due to COVID
4 AP classes
3 dual enrollment classes test of my classes were honors
Many extracurricular activities and volunteer hours
OOS
Does anyone know if merit packages will accompany acceptances tomorrow?
@PH Their website says merit scholarship decisions will come in Mid-March. But with Covid, test optional and application deadlines being extended, who knows?
I was wondering if that meant final decisions for competitive scholarships, but maybe wishful thinking that other scholarship decisions would come sooner.
Mine went in as business too but test optional! Sorry no advice but I understand the worry!
Wishing everyone good luck. My advice to those worrying: I know itâs a big deal and you want to get into your #1 school, but keep in mind there are LOTS of great colleges out there and you can be successful at any of them and have a great career. No matter where you go youâll meet lifetime friends and have amazing experiences. And when you start your first jobs, youâll be side by side with grads from a variety of universities all starting out fresh new adventures.
When my oldest was accepted a few years ago her acceptance stated that she would be receiving a scholarship at a minimum of $xxx. She received the actual numbers in March. She is a junior now and loves U of SC!
What are my chances?
3.58 UW 3.68 W
went test-optional
OOS
2 APâs
2 CCP
multiple honors
multiple extra curriculars
Applied to the business school
When my older daughter was accepted, I recall her getting a separate merit offer maybe a week or two after the acceptance came out. It gave her a âguaranteed minimum awardâ, with the option for more to be added. She received her final offer letter in February. Their offer was very generous but she opted for our flagship in-state school.
I literally am unable to sleep tn lol, does anyone know what time I should expect an email in the Pacific Time Zone?
I saw a reply on the admissions Instagram page that says âlate afternoonâ.
Best of luck EA applicants and parents! Meet ya back here in the âlate afternoonâ with, hopefully, good news!
