Appreciate any insight on Upitt full tuition vs U of M for pre-med path.
Would you have to pay for the entire cost of attendance at Michigan? What’s the price difference? Are you in-state for Michigan?
If you would have to pay full price for Michigan, then I would just go to UPitt. Excellent school and either will prepare you for medical school.
If the costs are similar, then you should just go with whatever university you prefer. Both have the potential to prepare you well for med school.
Tks for the response. Out of state for both UM and Upitt. Got Full tuition scholarship for Upitt. Really hard to decide since UM is a great school but competitive is what I have heard…
If you’re sticking with med school as your goal, Pitt is the slamdunk easy decision.
They’re both big state schools. UMich would be more competitive. Prestige (definitely when it comes down to UMich vs. Pitt) won’t matter for med school admissions. You’ll pay a ton more for UMich.
In fact, it’s hard to make any sort of argument for UMich over Pitt. UMich’s advantages only come if you choose a different path (enter Ross, going in to consulting, maybe become an engineer or something like that), and even then, unless you get in to Ross, it’s really hard to justify the huge cost difference.
