U.S. student applying for University of Manchester

Hey guys, I’m a rising senior and I want to apply for the University of Manchester for Civil Engineering (3 year course)(I might change the engineering field later), but the requirements on its website is a bit vague. How many AP tests do you guys recommend sending in, and which ones? Would SAT subject tests be an okay substitute for some of the AP tests?

Not sure how you find the requirements to be vague: the UK system is strikingly specific. The requirements for the course are here:

http://www.mace.manchester.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/courses/civil-engineering/beng-civil-engineering-3years/factfile/index.htm?code=03343&pg=3#additionalEntryRequirements

and international requirements are here:

http://www.manchester.ac.uk/study/international/admissions/

The short answer:

For admission to the University: minimum 3.0 GPA, 1800 SAT with a minimum of 600 on each section, and 3 APs with a minimum score of 4 (SATIIs might be considered, but they specifically prefer APs).

For admission to the course that you want: scores of 5 on AP Physics and Calculus, plus a score of at least 4 in one other AP are required. Note that they will prefer the third AP to be a quant course, not a humanities course.
