My sister was talking about wearing shoes in her dorm shower at UA, what's the showering situation then? Like an open gym shower?

I think most people wear shoes in any community bathroom shower regardless of if it’s “open.” My dorm at Umich has individual stalls with curtains and is perfectly private but you still wear shoes. I have not heard of any universities that actually have totally open showers.

Though, to be honest, I think the showers here are cleaner than the shower at my parents house. My only complaint about the showers here are that my floormates are all slobby, self-centered girls who leave GOBS of hair everywhere. Which, in my opinion, is reason enough to wear shoes.

I’m at UA. :)

All our showers are individual showers. Like, there’s the normal bathroom, then you enter one of several little rooms with a shower in it, so there’s a place to leave your clothes and get changed without getting wet. For the most part, every one of our showers is relatively clean, and the maintenance/cleaning people come by pretty often.

But still, always wear shoes in public showers.

My fraternity has an open shower like an other fraternity. I’m sure you guys are jealous.
