UC asked for unofficial transcripts, what does it mean?

Curious if this a good sign or what. I have a low ish GPA and honestly didn’t think I’d hear anything from UC. Though, I do have 2 years experience as a Lead Software Engineer, and I’m applying for CS.
Any ideas?

They may just need to verify something. Don’t look too much into it, just provide them with what they asked for.

You could be borderline but before they offer admission want to verify. Probably a good sign at this late date (if you just got asked).
