My parents make a similar / slightly lower income as you @RosesAndPoses but i received $0.00 in financial aid dont know if ill be able to attend
does anyone have any advice on UCB vs. Cornell for engineering?
@scarletwitchx Both are very strong. One is east and the other west so whether may a play a role. Also, I’m assuming Cornell gives a lot more aid then UCB so that may be a reason to go with Cornell.
Any advice on Berkeley L&S or Brown for CS? Berkeley is about 10k and Brown 5k a year.
@tigerman333 I’m in-state for Berkeley, so I don’t have to pay much–the colleges that have given me the best aid so far have ended up about the price of Berkeley anyways.
@alex232890 honestly, I’d choose Brown, just because you never know if you’ll get into CS at Berkeley since it’s impacted. Personally, I also love Brown’s culture, but I think that’s a matter of personal preference.
@PinstripeQ haven’t/won’t submit a SIR because the estimated cost of attendance AFTER my aid is about $50,000. I have $13,213 in scholarships (definitely gift aid - not loans/work study). I don’t really know WHY/HOW because I was honestly expecting no money at all from them and there are people with way more need that got nothing at all
Is ucb worth it for pre med? Im out of state so its really expensive idk how worth it it is
@parisgeller def not. It’s an extremely difficult school and for pre-med, you want a school that will give you a higher GPA. I wouldn’t pay 60k a year for Berkeley for pre-med.
Does anyone know the freshman move in date for the fall?
@alex233890 hands down Brown
@parisgeller what are your options? Love your screen name btw

@beegbeeegboi I am sure you have gotten acceptance from some other school…It is UCs loss that they didn’t accept you…not yours…You are really very strong applicant…believe me. Did you apply to UCD?
Is anyone attending the overnight stay program thing?
Hey guys anyone have a good link or can explain the differences between Berkeley L&S CS and EECS?
@Sharob UCD rejected me, i applied to Carnegie Mellon, Johns Hopkins, MIT, Caltech, but all rejected me, the only place i got accepted to was Washginton State in seattle.
@apples4 thanks for the advice, i’ll look into the appeal option!
Any one here accepted as undeclared engineering
@scarletwitchx
I would go with Berkeley absolutely. I got accepted to both and I am an international. I immediately enrolled in Berkeley since it is renowned for engineering field while Cornell is only the second tier engineering school I think.
