@ParkJiSung777 are you out of state or international? Did you get an acceptance email? When you looked at your portal, did you scroll down to the every end? I remember my son had a link at the bottom of his portal for regents invite, but that was 2017, I don’t know if they still do it the same way.
I’m instate and got my acceptance package yesterday. SAT: 1570, 760 Math II, US History, and Lit. 3.9 UW, 4.3 W. I scrolled to the endanddidnt see a link for it.
@ParkJiSung777 So you got in! Maybe its an Instate thing, but congrats nevertheless!
@compSciLover Your stats are remarkable and well above Berkeley’s 75th. This early stuff is luck and maybe something specific other than just academics (volunteer work or something). I can’t imagine a scenario where you don’t get a UCB offer in March!
So is it safe to assume at this point that all applicants who were chosen for R+C invitations have received their emails? My daughter’s status is still “Under review.”
I know it’s incredibly competitive, but we were hopeful she’d have a fair chance. Her stats are: SAT: 1550 (1600 superscore), UW GPA: 4.0, UC GPA: 4.52, AP and IB courses: 13. Lots of ECs (choir, dance, theatre, competitive culinary). She was applying L&S undeclared, hoping to apply to Haas sophomore year
I think its safe to assume that (if the point under question is of decision status updates). Dont forget the MET program applicants who heard back as well.
@ParkJiSung777 did you get accepted into the dual degree program?
Got in for physics
@lkg4answers unfortunately not seeing as I didn’t even get an interview
@ParkJiSung777 The only case where you get interviews from UC’s is for the R+C scholarship. You can get in otherwise, such as for the MET or the normal program(s),but in February I’m speculating that the normal program’s accepted applicants are the ones invited for the interview (strictly for the R+C Scholarship)
as far as I know, the only acceptances that have been sent out by the university are for Regents/Chancellors nominees or for MET. If you’ve gotten an email but nothing on your portal, you’ve likely a phishing candidate.
@ProfessorPlum168 I agree.
all official emails from UC-Berkeley with regards to admissions will come from admissions@berkeley.edu. If it’s not, you can throw the email away, it’s a fake email.
@ProfessorPlum168 hmm I guess my situation is a bit odd then. I know for sure I got in (I got the physical acceptance package and the portal has my acceptance letter) but I wasn’t invited to interview for the R&C scholarship
I’m not MET either, I’m Political Econ and Data Science
@ParkJiSung777 if I remember correctly I read somewhere, Berkeley releases some 2000 candidates early acceptance , out of which around 1000 are called for R and C interviews, remaining 1000 are just admitted early without any benefits. Of the 1000 interviewed students, they try to take 400 to 500 out of which 200 like to enroll.
Well, congrats to @ParkJiSung777 ! Regents or not, it’s always great to get an early acceptance. Go Bears!
If you got something positive on your portal, then you’re golden. My posts were in response to those who got nebulous emails without anything on the portal.
In addition to the acceptances that have been sent out by the university are for Regents/Chancellors nominees or for MET, they also sent notifications to their Global Management Program. Only 30 students get selected for this program.
This is a selective, early admission program for a small cohort of high school seniors applying to UC Berkeley and the Haas School of Business. The program offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and is designed to be completed in four years.
It looks like Berkeley Sciences Po Dual BA applicants were also notified. http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-berkeley/2121935-berkeley-sciences-po-dual-ba-entering-fall-2019.html#latest
