Are you Korean? Then you can’t take Korean SAT II. SAT is low but if you can get it to 2150 it’ll be fine(2200+ optimal). ECs are good, award is very impressive.

ECs are good, also your IB predicted grades plus GPA are great. I think you’ve a fine chance.

@qpqpqp well it’s kind of complicated. I am ethnically Korean but both my parents are Canadian citizens and I am also Canadian citizen. Will taking the SAT Korean matter?

it doesn’t really matter

UC’s are full fees, can you afford the fees?

Yes, I can afford the fees.

Your SAT isn’t high enough for Berkeley and LA.

UC Berkeley-reach
-UCLA(Biochemistry)-reach
-USC: low reach.
-Case Western Reserve: match?
–NYU-match
-U Mich-reach
-Tufts-low reach
-Duke-reach

About your SAT II Korean, it depends. If your 1st language isn’t Korean then that’s totally fine but if not, it may give some minor disadvantage, but hey…everything is harder for int. students. You don’t want anything that may lower your chance, do you?

Hey, thanks for replying to my thread. I’m sorry, I’m not very familiar with the Canadian education system and IB. Your SAT score is around the average for UC Berkeley (I live about 30 minutes away from there, it’s a beautiful campus by the way!). If you could get it a bit higher, 2100-2200 or more, that would be great. Your EC’s are great too.

Bump

I think you have a great chance! Your SAT is average by UC standards, but you stand out in every other way.
