<p>Now that I think about it… It’s probably good if they wait until June 2nd to send out decisions, because the SIR date is June 1, so there might be more room for appeals if a lot of people SIR elsewhere…</p>

@Bookham yeah UCLA is almost as good academically but more social so I think I’m definitely gonna be happy there as well</p>

<p>@sonderberg Had you applied to L&S at UC Berkeley, you would have definitely been accepted. Admission to COE is way more competitive, and that is the reason you did not get in. In your appeal request to be considered for L&S.</p>
<p>@chickoo UC Berkeley admits all L&S Computer Science freshmen as “Undeclared”. And you are right tey require the student to maitani a 3.0 GPA in the 7 pre-req classes before petitioning for CS major. In prior years the threshold was 2.0 GPA and NOT 3.0 GPA. I heard that this year, many students who applied to L&S BA Computer Science rejected Berkeley’s admission offer because of the uncertainty around actually getting accepted for CS major after the sophomore tear. It is a blessing in disguise for your son and my son who got admission throgh the waitlist because many students rejected the admission offer from Berkeley for L&S Computer Science. My son wanted to go to Berkeley and was willing to take on the challenge so he accepted.</p>
