@BrKmNk If I’m not mistaken, Cal released decisions last year on Ivy Day, which this year is March 28th. I’m pretty sure the “before” part refers to those accepted in early February for Regents. Since I was already accepted to Cal I haven’t researched that much into the history of releases, but I know that last year they sent out decisions on March 30th which was Ivy Day, and UCLA released decisions on the 17th. I would guess that they will follow a similar pattern this year.
Just curious, any non-STEM major students received early acceptance from Berkeley?
@Laketahoe79 yes, someone I know got in early for a theatre major.
If you aren’t asked for an LOR, that means a rejection??
@mmstanfordbound No. That’s not what it means.
The wait is killing me
me too @ShieldOfGod Haha these next few weeks are killer.

Forgot to mention my major is Global Studies and I am an R&C Candidate for class of 2022 lol
My son got an LOR request in early January, I was wondering why, but now I realize it’s for arumented review. His SAT is 1490, merit scholarship finalist, but received a C+ on an AP course in the last semester of Junior
Do your best
Good luck all golden bear wannabes. It’s a great education in a great place! Can’t do better.
@secretgeek6 “Created my own social justice documentary” “Non-Binary womxn”
Instant Berkeley acceptance, you didn’t need to include anything else
@jeremy_cohrt Haha, @secretgeek6 knows that. They said,‘I always knew I was going to get into Cal.’ That level of confidence…I wish I could be even half as. Haha
Anyway, congratulations @secretgeek6! Good luck

Georgia tech’s decision was out today. My D’s friend Got waitlisted. SAT 1580 one sitting. SAT 2 math, chem, phyices all 800, 14 APs all 5. ECs are good too. So scary.
@jeremy_cohrt Yeh, creating your own documentary in high school and raising thousands of dollars for it is extremely difficult especially coming from a low-income background. My gender identity did not guarantee me instant admission into the top public school in America. My handwork did. Granted, hard work does not guarantee admissions, and I do think admissions decisions can be fairly random. A number of qualified candidates don’t make the cut, but being queer and an activist isn’t necessarily desirable for Cal admin.
@happygal2017 A decent number of students get accepted to Cal every year from my school and I am close friends with several past admits so I was never particularly worried. I was confident about Cal but not confident in getting into my moderately competitive dream school a small west coast LAC (ultimately got rejected). At this point, I believe it doesn’t matter where you get rejected, accepted, or waitlisted whatever happens is meant to happen and whatever school we end up at is ultimately where we are supposed to be. It sounds cliche, but I don’t stress out about college anymore (at least at the moment) even with the uncertainty of affording college and where I will be attending this fall. I wish you the best
