UC Berkeley - Language majors question.

<p>A friend of mine wants to transfer to UC Berkeley where he wants to major in German. By the end of the next semester he'll have taken all the German courses at his CC. The problem is that none of those courses are articulated to fulfill UC Berkeley's lower division German requirements.</p>

<p>What does this mean? Would he be able to transfer to UC Berkeley where he could take German 4, the last lower division German class, if he wanted to? Is there a test he would have to take to place him in the appropriate German course? Would he simply not be able to transfer to UC Berkeley?</p>

<p>I would appreciate the experiences of those who transferred to UC Berkeley without any language courses that were articulated.</p>
