I have narrowed my college selection down to UC Berkeley. I just have a couple nagging questions about medical school.

What are the prospects for a student with a major in Cell and Developmental Bio attending UC Berkeley?

-Does the school that you attend hold any meaning when applying to med school. (Ex. If I got decent grades at Berkeley and good grades at a
California State University (EC's same))

-I have heard that Berkeley is generally really tight on grades, will this effect me and how?

-Lastly, I would like to get some statistics on the acceptance rate to med schools from Berkeley as compared to other school. Can you help me out?

Thanks for considering my questions and reading my post.

Can't help with stats, but in general, for med school purposes, good grades from Berkeley will probably be worth more than good grades from a cal state. But good grades from a cal state will be worth a lot more than mediocre grades from Berkelely. Moral of the story: wherever you decide to go, make sure you get good grades.
