Hello all! I recently received notice that one of the UC schools I was applying to was requesting a recommendation from me. I’ve looked at past threads, and I can’t really figure out if it’s a good thing or a bad thing. Some said it was usually if your scores didn’t match your GPA or something like that, but I figured mine were pretty much the same. So, as the discussion title said: what that mean? Is anyone else in the same boat?
It just is. Leave it at that … and do what they ask.
It is a good thing so take advantage of this opportunity and send them as requested.

If anything, it may be good. UC did not use to give a rap about recommendations. They are testing the waters. No one has yet figured out the criteria. At worst, it may be irrelevant. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
