Does anyone know what the ELC policy is. I have heard that if you get an ELC # that pretty much guarantees you admission into UC Davis, but the web site only shows it as extra points added in the admission criteria formula.

At this moment UC Davis will guarantee admissions to any student who is selected as ELC. Please read the ELC letter carefully in the fall to verify your ELC status. All students who are reviewed for ELC receive an ELC number but, not all are selected as ELC.

Thanks for the reply. Are there any stat's out there on kids that are selected for review but don't get an ELC from an admissions stand point at Davis?

Also, are there any disadvantages to submitting only the ACT test? She has a 33 ACT score and a 2100 SAT I score, but we have been told the ACT score is better?

When can students expect to receive notification of their ELC status.

According to the ELC web site, they mail out notifications to the schools mid August and than letters go out to the kids.

I've seen ELC notification received as late as the last week in September. I would become concerned about receiving ELC notification until Early October. You should hear about your status before the Application for Undergraduate Admissions and Scholarships becomes available.

I always recommend self reporting all scores, from ACT and SAT, since we will only use the highest score. A student would only need to report their highest known score on the application.

So I understand how the whole ELC process worked in 2008 for UC Davis, but how does it work for 2010? Does this program still guarantee admission? Around what percentage?

Ya it is still guaranteed I got my letter from Davis like 2-3 weeks ago
