congrats to everyone who is getting in so far!!
How do you update your spring grades?
Do you guys think updating spring grades now would matter? I’m thinking about updating mine as I haven’t heard back but not sure… Any poli sci major still waiting on a response? Lets chat lol im sad :))
i just did the same, got really concerned about grades, but this rude lady from admissions said they’re not reviewing any new grades? and to not send a transcript even though it said they need one by june 15th. Incredibly confused, but i guess its just a waiting game now.
Im international relations still waiting to hear back, nothing yet, updated grades but lady i spoke to from admission said it has no effect
i updated my spring grades today so i’m not sure when i first ‘updated’ grades after i found out i was waitlisted i just added what summer courses i was taking and put in progress for my spring courses.
I just called them and they told me that at this time there is no second wave. Not sure what that means ?
I literally just got off the phone with them and they said they haven’t sent acceptances out for all majors and to sit tight till June 30th. And that they can’t tell me if and when acceptances will go out next. So it looks like they’re telling all of us different things.
Does anybody get a financial aid package as well?
@srafiq I am a cognitive science major on the waitlist too and am hoping that they just haven’t gotten to our major yet!!
@RocellasaurusRex omg i hope we both get in!!! this is so nerve wracking. just want results to come out
My uninformed guess for next wave would be June 19th or so because June 18th is the SIR deadline for the group that heard on the 11th. But I could be off.
I have been checking this forum page since it opened and from what it looks like most of the people who got in are close to 4.0 students? I am an econ major but I accidently applied as a managerial econ major and no longer can change. I have a 3.4 gpa but it went down this semester since I got a C in calculus.
Davis is my dream school and I don’t know what to do. I’ve been checking my portal everyday, multiple times a day. I don’t want to call them because they won’t tell me what I want; which is whether I got in or not but I’m just really sad because I felt so confident going into this and now I feel utterly destroyed.
If anyone has anymore information or comforting words please let me know. Anything will help at this point to help bandage the rejection when it comes out.
Do you think we can still appeal after decisions come out?
@empressu I know freshmen had the option to so I think transfers will be the same. Worth a shot.
@cindyg17 reading your post made me so sad! I wish I could help you and I wish there were more people commenting so we’d know more about who got in. I know for sure that I was WL’d because I was missing two prereqs…I’m not sure if that makes a difference. I haven’t been accepted into the transfer FB group but I’ll try to find out more once that happens.
@cindyg17 Hi Cindy!! I too am on the waitlist for UC Davis, but for Cognitive Science. As much as being in Limbo sucks, try to keep positive and motivated. If we don’t get in, we have far more other options for education that I am sure we can and will excel in!!! I am pretty sure appealing is an option if rejected from the waitlist. Potential rejection our number one school isn’t the end of the journey, we can try to pursue them again next year or for graduate school. If you don’t get in this time around, make sure to excel in this next upcoming school year to show your strength and resistance! Sending you some good juju and light, don’t give up!
I don’t suggest appealing because I heard they will only slightly consider your appeal if you were missing a prereq and you somehow made it up(during the summer). If you got rejected because of your GPA or other reasons based off of merit than requirements, appealing will most likely not work.
Reference: I appealed once and got rejected along with the reasons why.
And thank you for people who have replied to me!! I am actually a lower division transfer and my major does not have any pre-req’s, only courses that were highly recommended. I kind of screwed myself over in the application process because I had no idea Davis offered normal economics(B.A.) and thought they only offered managerial(B.S.) in which managerial had much more “highly recommended” courses.
I am most likely attending Santa Cruz next fall but I really was counting on getting into Davis since ever since I was a kid I saw myself attending. I wanted to transfer this year for assorted reasons such as displacement since I was only less than 5 units away from finishing with junior status. But thank you Rocellasaurus and OhWhatshername for replying to me. I hope we get a response from Davis soon.
@cindyg17 Santa Cruz is a beautiful place! I’m glad that no matter what happens you have a great place to fall back on. Worst case you try next year. I’m applying as a 4th year transfer and i have all my prereqs and a decent gpa. Just have to stay hopeful. Hey as long as they haven’t sent out rejections we aren’t rejects! lol i’m trying to stay positive too
hearing that people who get off the waitlist have bear 4.0’s scares me!! i’m a cog sci major which isn’t impacted and looking at the stats from the uc website people who enrolled for the major had closer to 3.0-3.2’s (i think i haven’t looked at it in a while) i just hope for the best
Has anyone from econ heard back yet? I’m a man. econ. major and also got waitlisted but I think it’s mostly because I’m a sophomore transfer so I’m thinking I’m most likely going to have to spend another year at cc what are your stats if you are a man. econ/econ major? I have a 3.7 GPA, limited EC (joined one club and doing a summer internship), and I only applied to Davis so I’m really anxious!
