I posted this in another forum but with the May 1 Deadline less than 24 hours away, I need a quick opinion. If I'm considering pharmacy, would it be better to go with Davis instead of Berkeley? My parents like the Berkeley name and stuff, but I don't really like it there and I'd want to go to Davis. I hear stuff about a more laidback environment, better internship offers, easier to get a high GPA, etc at Davis. What other reasons are there that I can use to consider going to Davis over Berkeley?

I was thinking that getting a higher GPA at Davis would be easier and thus, raise my chances of getting into a better pharm school (UCSF/UOP perhaps). Does the undergrad school even matter much if I'm planning for pharm school? If not, I'd be happier at Davis (my gf is there, but I don't want to consider that as a factor)

If you are more comfortable with Davis, go there -- Berkeley is not all that great for undergrads -- its big strength really is the graduate departments.

any other ideas? I'm seriously leaning towards Davis because people have been telling me how if I am determined to go to grad/pharmacy school, then the undergrad doesn't matter as much and I should go where I want.

Well the thing is I might be happier at Davis, but from an education standpoint, is Davis a smarter choice? I don't want to regret or overlook something with the deadline coming in so closely.

You've been accepted at UC Berkeley, so you're capable of succeeding there. If you work just as hard at UC Davis you'll find the opportunities to be just as rewarding, and you can still get great grad school placement coming out of Davis.

I chose Tufts engineering over Maryland and Lehigh engineering. Tufts is a better school overall academically, but not as well known for engineering. I was initially worried about that, but I've found that I'd rather be there and much happier with the personal attention that the department offers. I know I can succeed with an engineering degree from there just as well as one from Maryland or Lehigh.

Then, once I get accepted into a pharmacy school, will whatever undergraduate school I go to even matter? If I have my mind set on graduate/pharmacy school, then there shouldn't so much emphasis on the undergraduate school right?
