Thanks for the post, I was just gonna contact my school’s UCD rep about the fact that my schedule for Spring 2016 will look rather different lol.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure they care most about making sure your GPA doesn’t dip below 3.2 and understand that sh!!t happens and sometimes classes get filled up, or you have to take some thing different in the Spring, etc.

Major: History
GPA: 3.22
About Me: IGETC Completed, CCC Honors Program will be completed next semester, 4.0 Major related GPA.
Advice: Don’t be afraid to drop a class or take it Pass/No Pass (when applicable) if you’re not confident that you will get an A or B.
My son was approved. MAJOR: Psychology
UC TRANSFERABLE GPA: 3.44
Still has to complete an English class. Is also taking additional Chemistry and Calculus (not sure why) . What back up schools should he apply to? He is thinking UC Santa Cruz. Is Cal Poly SLO a good back up? Which CSUs are good back up?

Major: Econ
GPA: 3.9 Overall, 4.0 UC Transferable
Congrats @mikesauce. At least some pressure is off.
@avc118 Hey I’m curious are you planning on going for the A.B. or B.S. in Cognitive Science at UC Davis? My TAG also got accepted to UC Davis for Cognitive science.
@wecandothis He’d probably have a decent shot at UCI, UCSB, UCR as well. San Diego State is a popular CSU, Cal Poly is as well. Might as well apply far and wide - UCD is already guaranteed for him.
@elCreido I’m doing A.B. you?
@avc118 I’m interested in the B.S. but I don’t have all the math and science prerequisites so it would probably take me longer
@elCreido cool. you wanna go to HCI? i was interested in doing a BS for computational modeling but I lack the computer science requirements. so i thought if i do AB, I would probably minor in applied math and double major in psychology.
Approved
Major: Art History
GPA: 3.8-3.9
English & Math requirements already completed
IGETC: Will be finished this Spring
@avc118 I’m actually looking more towards the Cognitive Neuroscience degree but it would take me a while to complete the prerequisities over there since I only have a few. I think the other UC’s have a nicer layout for their Cognitive Science degrees since they don’t have so many prerequisites like the UC Davis one haha
@elCreido i see. Do you wanna go to Med school? or research? meh… UC Davis is better than UCSD when it comes to prerequisites. lol
@avc118 I am not completely sure yet. I like UCSD’s degree layout. I just think it’s weird that their only prerequisites are math
@elCreido UCSD has the best Cog Sci program especially in the hci and computational specializations. though honestly, i heard that even though they put tons of prereqs on assist, they’re very lenient compared to other UCs.
@avc118 how lenient do you think they are? Haha Because i’ve been worried the past couple of days about how big they are on prerequisites
